Xinlin Wu ｜illustrator

I’m Xinlin Wu, a freelance illustrator based in Wuhan, China. I hold an MA in Illustration from Kingston University and have over ten years of experience in visual design and brand communication.

My work combines textured linework and surreal imagery to explore women’s inner worlds, self-companionship, identity, memory and contemporary life. Through symbolic objects, detailed environments and dreamlike transformations, I turn emotions and abstract ideas into visual narratives. My ongoing personal series explores the tenderness, humour, unease and possibilities of being with oneself.

My work has appeared in frankie magazine as an A3 pull-out poster, alongside an artist interview and a selection of my illustrations. Other projects include a completed private commission for an Australian client and a book-cover illustration currently in development for a Chinese publisher. My series Being with Myself received a Merit Award in the 3×3 International Illustration Show No.23.
